I am an LGBTQIA2s+, Anti-Racist, and Sex-Positive clinician. This means that I'm committed to being an ally and advocate for all of my clients, regardless of how they or the world might see them. I am committed to educating myself on how to better support the LGBTQIA2s+ community and committed to educating myself on how to be anti-racist. I welcome feedback from my clients on how to do better in these areas with an open heart.
My goal is to provide a safe and shame-free space for you to express yourself freely as we work on solutions and desired outcomes for anything you may be facing. Through our time together, I hope to remind you of your resiliency and power. By finding the tools that work best for you and your specific needs, we can make changes that will bring you closer to ease, self-acceptance, and growth.

Drawing upon techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT,) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness techniques, we can work toward goals such as:
-
Changing maladaptive thought patterns that no longer serve you
-
Strengthening focus and presence
-
Improving your relationships
-
Acceptance
-
Finding hope after loss and managing grief

I am a discerning, encouraging, and open-minded therapist that can help you feel like yourself again. My therapeutic style is warm and compassionate. I strive to create a shame-free environment of exploration. I know how difficult it can be to take the first step towards healing. I enjoy working with people, and my direct but compassionate approach helps manifest results.
About Me
If you've made it this far, let me formally introduce myself. Hi! My name is Valerie Reich, but in session, you can call me Val.
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified Couples and Sex Therapist. My background and experience is working with Individuals, Couples, and Teens who are going through external and internal changes that leave them feeling overwhelmed, lost, and depleted. My clients have ongoing challenges within their relationships, struggle to find balance, and are often overwhelmed with feelings of depression, anxiety, burnout, and emotional turbulence.
I have my MA Degree in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. I have worked within the VA mental health system providing mental health care services to the houseless community in Los Angeles, in residential detox programs, outpatient detox programs, and within private practice. I am certified in Sex and Couples Therapy through the American Association of Couples and Sex Therapists, based out of UCLA.
